Cardiologist Appt.
Brady had a follow up cardiologist appointment this afternoon to confirm the closure of a PFO and VSD. This means (in terms I understand and can explain) that he has a small hole in the atrial septum and a small hole in the ventricular septum. To do this, Brady had an EKG and ECHO. He was pretty good considering that he wasn't suppose to play with the wires that were attached to him, he was suppose to be still and he wasn't suppose to play with the hand held device the tech rubbed around his chest and stomach during the ECHO. It was confirmed that the PFO (the upper hole) has closed on it's own although the VSD was still visible. However it was smaller than at birth and couldn't be measured. Maybe they were trying to measure that while Brady was kicking when he was suppose to be still. :) The VSD has and never will be a concern or an issue for him now or in the future, but they do want to see him in a year just to confirm it's closure.
