Fall Cabin Trip

Our annual trip to the cabin over Fall Break brought created some great memories- as usual!
My daily fascination was with the baby squirrels in the old oak tree right outside the cabin. I'm pretty sure I have more pictures of the baby squirrels than of everything else I took pictures of combined- really! There were four babies and they only ventured onto the branches, not ever onto the ground.
Trying to get a picture of all 4 was nearly impossible!

One of our adventures took us to Tonto Natural Bridge. It was not what I was expecting, it was better! We hiked down a steep trail and it brought us to the bridge with running water. It was beautiful. The fun part was trying to find our way under the bridge with the two kids! Of course, Brady had his crocs on- not the best hiking shoes, but they worked! After playing for a bit, it was time to head back up the steep trail for a snack.

The next adventure took us to Potato Lake. We were looking for the Baker Butte look out tower, but that destination will have to wait until next time- after we find some reliable directions. Potato Lake was cool though! The boys hunted cray fish and we got to see some (ok, a few) leaves changing colors.

In the evenings we enjoyed smores and building with magantiles. One night we set the magnatiles up as dominoes around the wood burning stove. With little children trying to help it took us quite awhile to have it all set up, but watching them fall all the way around was quite impressive!
